When you register for a visa appointment and pay the fee, the online appointment system will determine if you qualify for Interview Waiver. If qualified, the system will provide instructions on how to submit your passport, application, and related documents via courier to your closest Consular Section. Eligible applicants must submit a copy of their valid status in Canada (permanent resident card, work authorization, or student permit) and may be required to pay a reciprocity fee (in addition to the standard visa fee) later in the process. Visa applicants who meet the criteria below may be eligible to apply for their visas by mail, without a visa interview, if:
- They normally reside in Canada; and
- They are physically present in Canada; and
- Their visa and passport have not been lost, stolen, canceled, or revoked; and
- They fit into one of the following categories:
- Renewals in the Same Category: They already have a U.S. visa that is valid or has expired within the last 48 months and wish to renew their visa of the same classification (e.g. a holder of a recently expired J visa may NOT renew and get a B1/B2 visa) or
- F, M, or Academic J Visas: They are applying for an F, M, or Academic J visa and have previously been issued any type of visa; or
- Individual Petition-Based H, O, P, and Q Visas: They are applying for an H-1, H-3, H-4, O, P, or Q visa and have previously been issued any type of visa. Applicants for L visas are not eligible for interview waiver under this category.

其实就是免面试签证。
过程很简单。
我只是猜想，可以提交加拿大护照。
另外没有枫叶卡，原来好像有公民卡，现在是不是可以提交入籍证书呢？

可不是，提的是中国护照去美国有关签证的做法，非要提加拿大护照。确实是和本贴无关。这里说的是用中国护照申请美国签证，持中国护照进入美国，身份就是中国公民而不是加拿大公民，所以无法免签证。

Return to this website and complete the following application steps to schedule a Consular Section appointment:
Create a user account.
Add applicant information to complete the registration.
Enter the DS-160 confirmation number for each applicant applying for a visa.
Provide an address or select a location where you want to receive your documents from the Consular Section.
Pay the nonimmigrant visa (MRV) application fee(s) using one of the payment methods available in the country where you reside. See Visa Fees for available payment options.
Schedule a Consular Section appointment
Attend the Consular Section appointment.
After your interview, please follow specific instructions provided by the consular section or check this website for visa status and delivery information.

如果已经入籍了，枫叶卡早就过期了，移民纸也是多年以前的了，申请美签需要提交在加拿大的有效身份状态（valid status in canada），而且还必须是有效期内的，该怎么办？确实是和本贴无关。这里说的是用中国护照申请美国签证，持中国护照进入美国，身份就是中国公民而不是加拿大公民，所以无法免签证。

提交DS-160表已經12天了，當天收到確認郵件，但至今沒有進一步消息。今天上傳了簽證申請，等候回覆。

Eligibility for the ‘Interview Waiver’ will be determined as applicants go through the process of scheduling an appointment. The determination will be made based on the answers provided to the qualifying criteria.
